Table for Exposure

I always wonder before how to start with with exposure when I first started photography. Then I ran into this site and now I'm blogging it in case someone needs it. It's a very helpful table when you start photography:

You can Handheld
F2 1/1000
F2.8 1/500
F4 1/250
F5.6 1/125
F8 1/60 (Goodluck on this one bec. I will not dare)

You need a Tripod
F11 1/30
F16 1/15
F22 1/8
F32 1/4

Let's illustrate: The first time you meter your exposure, you decided that you want to have an aperture of F5.6, when you measured the SS, it went to 1/100 at an ISO of 100, to get enough enough exposure, I follow the table, I bump up the ISO to 200 and I can get a SS of 125, Note that the higher the ISO the grainer the picture is, that means it has more noise. As much as possible you want to keep it low.
My eyes right now can only focus on a F5.6, I wish I can go wider, but I'll take my time and enjoy every minute of it. I agree with Rebecca's comment, I would not dare going below SS 80 there's a big chance on a blur.
Hope this help, if anyone wants to add some comments, please feel free.

How can you handhold at f/8 1/60 w/out blur? I have a pretty steady hand but I will rarely go below 1/80 w/out a tripod for fear of camera shake (well at least on a paid shoot and not just messing around photographing my kids).

I am curious because I have been reading some things by other people about exposure, SS and Ap settings that have me thinking I am missing something so now I am curious. Anyway, just wondered where you learned this so I can read it too. :-)

Hi Tiffany!
I'm impressed....not only are you advancing creatively on your photographic journey....you are really understanding the technical side. Enough to explain it to others! Good for you!
