Its a good start. I took this picture before I started learning how to hold the camera, and now I try to take note not to tilt a lot.
Things I did with this?
- Emphasize the eyes by dodging it.
- Did contrast adjustment.
- Tweak the Curves and Level.
- Brightness adjustment.
- Fix the Ratio of the size for posting. I still have to figure out the right ratio for this.
This is on a Jpeg format so I can't adjust it that well. I'm going to try to take pictures in RAW if I want to take things more seriously.

I usually set my D80 to RAW+JPEG so that I have the RAW files available but I seldom use them. You'll get better results taking more exposures and trying to get it balanced then. If you're interested, you can read my thoughts of RAW vs JPEG on my Landscape Photography blog.
